Dutch Neuroscience Meeting 2025

This was actually the first time that I attended the Dutch Neuroscience Meeting (DNM) in the exotic city of Tiel. The yearly meeting has a strong focus on cellular and molecular neuroscience, but covers many different ways of studying the brain. It was great to be able to introduce the finalists of the Dutch Brainbee (see my previous post) to a conference like this.

The high school students were able to cram the meeting into their exam-filled agendas. From my side, I was able to fit it in my schedule of experiments and guest lectures this time of year. Together with Elena (a PhD student at the UMC Utrecht) and Erik (a postdoctoral researcher at the BPRC) we presented the concept of the Brainbee to the entire audience of attending scientists. It was amazing to see so much enthusiasm for our programme and I hope it will translate into a couple of joiners for the organization of next year’s edition of the Brainbee!
