About
I’m a Neurobiologist at heart, even if that ‘heart’ (sentiment) is technically just a part of my brain... At the same time, I’m a 30-something living way up high in a skyscraper in Amsterdam with my partner. Besides my scientific activities I enjoy playing in a gay soccer team, taking my race bike for a spin through the Dutch countryside and am trying to keep my French up to par through evening courses at the Alliance Française. I'm possibly possessed by a rather persistent travel bug.

Wanderlust
I’m lucky enough to be able to travel a lot so far. I’ve visited 63 countries across 6 continents. I like to share some of my most interesting trips on my blog over at PolarSteps, which you can check out here. If you’re not here for the science but want to chat about visiting some of the more unusual spots I’ve been to, like North Korea, Iran, or even Belgium, feel free to reach out!
